Ming Chuan University Applied English Students Shine Again in Taoyuan English Competition, Showcasing Outstanding Language Skills
To enhance the English language proficiency of young students in Taoyuan City and cultivate their global perspective, the Taoyuan City Government organized the 2025 Taoyuan City English Competition, attracting many outstanding participants. Among them, students from the Department of Applied English at Ming Chuan University delivered an impressive performance. With their solid English skills and fluent public speaking abilities, they secured multiple awards in the highly competitive university-level speech competition, fully demonstrating the exceptional teaching quality of the department.

Professor Lilie Tsay, Chair of the Department of Applied English, stated that the department is one of the few in Taiwan to offer a fully English-taught curriculum throughout the four-year program. The curriculum covers diverse fields such as professional English applications, international business communication, and AI language technology, emphasizing the development of critical thinking and professional communication skills. Over the years, students from the department have actively participated in various English competitions and have consistently achieved excellent results in the Taoyuan City English Competition, showcasing the department’s exceptional achievements in English education.
