On the 4th of this month, 58 students from the Department of Applied English at Ming Chuan University successfully obtained the International Professional Etiquette Service Certification, achieving a 100% pass rate. This accomplishment highlights the department’s excellence in nurturing workplace ethics and cross-cultural literacy. The certification, issued by the Cross-domain Talent Development Center of the Chinese Computer Skills Foundation, aims to enhance students’ international professional service capabilities.

The Department of Applied English has made workplace ethics and international etiquette mandatory courses, focusing on cultivating students’ global English proficiency and emphasizing the importance of cross-cultural literacy and ethics. Instructor Maggie Su stated that through these courses, students not only learned professional language skills but also gained a deep understanding of the practice of international etiquette, preparing them thoroughly for the global job market.

Department Chair Chaochang Wang pointed out that in addition to language proficiency, workplace ethics and etiquette are essential qualities. She emphasized that a sound knowledge of international etiquette is key to developing transnational talents, enabling students to better present themselves on the international stage and communicate and collaborate effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
